Our History

Spectrum Advisory Group was founded in April of 2010, by Alex Perez, from an idea that came from working with the San Antonio Police Officers Association (SAPOA) as their agent of record. While working with SAPOA, Alex found that many of the benefits in supplemental insurance products were geared toward normal municipal employees, not police officers. That is when Spectrum Advisory Group made the goal that it was going to build supplemental insurance products that were designed for police by police. Most importantly, the products were going to evolve as the cultural fabric of police work changed and became more complicated.

In 2011 and 2012, Spectrum Advisory Group began expanding across the state of Texas, acquiring notable police unions such as the Corpus Christi Police Officers Association and the Brownsville Police Officers Association. During this time of growth, we invested time and money in proprietary enrollment systems, knowledgeable insurance specialists, and anchored police union offices. As we continued to grow into 2016, we added notable clients such as the Austin Police Association, Fort Worth Police Officers Association, Laredo Police Officers Association, and the CLEAT Dental and Vision Trust.

As the fabric of police culture changed dramatically in 2018, Spectrum Advisory Group launched its flagship product: the Administrative Duty policy. This policy is the only one of its kind in the market that protects officers who are placed on Administrative Duty because they were involved in an OIS (officer involved shooting), in-custody death, complaint, or anything that causes management to place the officer in a limited duty status. This policy launched Spectrum Advisory Group into the national spotlight. In 2019, the Las Vegas Metro Police Managers and Supervisors Association (PMSA) became the first client outside the state of Texas. There has been such a great reception in Nevada, there are other associations in the process of partnering with Spectrum to offer Spectrum’s superior products to their members as well.

Today, Spectrum Advisory group enjoys three offices in the state of Texas, with seven full-time Insurance Specialists serving the existing client base. We also have two full-time Claims Specialists ensuring all claims are processed and paid in a timely manner. The future looks bright for our company as we are one the few companies that pride themselves in making it their mission to Protect the People Who Protect Us.

Leaders Life Insurance Company began in 1989 as the vision of its principal stockholder and CEO, Burt B. Holmes. Burt, a life-long Tulsan and business entrepreneur, has over 50 years of experience in insurance product sales through his ownership of the Holmes Organisation. The unique flagship product that Leaders Life is the Lifestyle Term-to-100. Lifestyle is a term insurance product that has an accelerated death benefit up to age 100. Leaders Life has been among the first in the country to offer this type of product, commonly referred to today as critical illness coverage. The accelerated death feature provides a benefit equal to 30% of the death benefit when the insured is diagnosed as having a major illness such as a heart attack, cardiac surgery (including bypass or transplant), stroke, life-threatening cancer, or terminal illness where the life expectancy is two years or less. This product alone has made Leaders Life a dominant force in marketing individual voluntary life insurance to workers in the state. It has been a market leader in Oklahoma for more than 20 years. Today, Leaders Life markets an expanded arsenal of employer-based voluntary insurance products in 5 states (OK, TX, AR, KS, & MO) servicing over 700 agents and brokers and 1,400 employer groups. In 2009 the company added Wage Protector, a voluntary short-term disability income product, and is proud to announce in 2010 the additional of VGTL, a voluntary group term life product, to its Lifestyle family of products.

The goal of Magellan Financial is to get their clients in front of as many opportunities as possible. They have crafted the perfect strategy when it comes to providing a platform that allows their clients to showcase their services to qualified prospects. Headquartered in Topeka, Kansas, Magellan Financial is a small company of about 50 people. However, they focus on annuities, life insurance, financial services support, systems deployment, marketing services, financial workshops, and retirement planning.

Bay Bridge Administrators, LLC is a licensed and bonded Third Party Administrator located in Austin, Texas. Bay Bridge fills a niche market in the insurance industry by entering into agreements with “A”-rated companies to provide administrative services. Unique to Third Party Administrators in Texas, Bay Bridge performs the administrative functions of the insurance companies, including Underwriting, Policy/Certificate Issue, Enrollment Services, Billing, Collection of Premiums, Customer Service and Payment of Claims. These services are performed for products such as Accident/Disability, Cancer and Specified Disease, and Heart/Stroke. Bay Bridge draws upon over 50 years of employee experience in plan administration and service to Employers. Located in Austin, Bay Bridge provides the Employer and the employees added value by being local and available to service client issues. The Employer will be provided with a single contact person and a dedicated staff of three employees to provide billing, claims payment, and customer service assistance.
